Job Summary and Qualifications
- Documents patient information, presents correct information for interpretation, and performs other non-clinical duties to support procedure completion.
- Performs all aspects of radiopharmaceutical preparation for scintographic, bioassay, and therapeutic procedures and disposes of radioactive trash according to department policy and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- Performs imaging and therapeutic procedures according to requirements.
- Transfers and positions the patient in a safe manner.
- Performs non-clinical activities pertinent to equipment maintenance and NRC regulations for Quality Control and radiation monitoring.
- Efficiently operates electronic information system and Unit Dose Manager.
- Maintains appropriate supplies and a clean and organized working environment.
- Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Nuclear Medicine.
- Involvement in Quality Control/Quality Improvement.
- Initiates patient teaching including family and/or significant others.
What qualifications you will need:
EXPERIENCE
- Required - One year experience in Nuclear Medicine. (May include experience in formal NM training program.)
- Preferred -Three years' experience in hospital Nuclear Medicine department.
EDUCATION
- Required -RT with one year training and demonstrated, documented proficiency in the field of Nuclear
- Medicine. Certification with the NMTCB, ARRT, or ASCP. CPR eligible.
- Preferred -Completion of accredited Nuclear Medicine program and certification from the NMTCB,
- ARRT, or ASCP. Completion of formal computer course.
- CPR certified.
