Job Description: We are seeking a Power Distribution Engineer to join our team in the Southwest. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a 25-year plan for our power distribution system, supplying both 60Hz and 50Hz to critical functions and nuclear loads. You will work closely with stakeholders, the facilities engineering team, and site engineers to ensure a comprehensive and reliable power distribution system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Capture requirements and interfaces from stakeholders, including users, operators, and design authorities.
- Collaborate with site engineers to create holistic solutions for electrical distribution projects.
- Conduct engineering studies, calculations, and analyses as needed.
- Participate in periodic reviews and discussions with the design authority and facilities leadership.
- Deliver detailed reports outlining requirements, stakeholder needs, interfaces, alternate options, solution recommendations, and risks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong background in electrical engineering design and safety practices.
- Knowledge of onshore/offshore power distribution systems.
- Experience in a dock environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in high voltage AC/DC distribution systems and substation design (including equipment selection, layout, control, and protection).
- Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards (IEC, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with different stakeholders.
Desirable Certifications:
- IEng (Incorporated Engineer) or CEng (Chartered Engineer) from a professional engineering institution, or equivalent skills and experience.
