Must Have Government Experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality Python applications and services

• Build APIs, data pipelines, and Back End services using modern frameworks

• Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and policy teams

• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code

• Contribute to cloud-based solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP)

• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing

• Ensure solutions meet security, accessibility, and government digital standards

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience with Python

• Experience with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)

• Familiarity with version control (Git)

• Experience delivering production systems in a regulated or large-scale environment

Desirable Experience

• UK Government or public sector project experience

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

• Docker/Kubernetes

• Data engineering or analytics exposure

• Knowledge of GDS standards and service assessments

• Experience working with sensitive or secure data
