We are looking for an energetic and experienced professional for the role of Vice-President, Property Management Operations (NOC 00012), for our office in Toronto, Canada to lead the property management division for our new developments. Individuals with at least 8+ years of property management experience in a senior managerial capacity with a strong corporate track record of building out a property management business division are encouraged to apply.

The Vice-President, Operations will work alongside the CEO and other department group heads to implement, oversee and build-out the execution of Fitzrovia's property management corporate vertical focused on providing best-in-class property management services to the Fitzrovia's rapidly growing real estate portfolio.

The Vice-President, Operations will lead the property management corporate strategy and business operations with a focus on achieving key business objectives. The role will require someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, strong business mindset and passion for working with others. The environment will be fast paced and offer a high level of autonomy and decision-making authority which will directly impact the growth and ultimate success of the Fitzrovia's property management business. In this role you will be working in a positive environment with professional staff who have expansive knowledge in the industry.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Lead in the strategic direction of Fitzrovia's property management division
  • Lead the operations strategy for all Fitzrovia new development sites
  • Maximize the financial performance of all Fitzrovia new development sites
  • Develop and execute on new strategic initiatives to improve cash flow, grow brand awareness and ultimately enhance company value
  • Maintain the physical integrity of all Fitzrovia new development sites
  • Procure and maintain applicable licenses as well as attend to all relations with applicable governmental authorities
  • Oversee business operations and business activities to ensure success of the platform
  • Manage property tax appeals process with external consultants
  • Negotiate major long-term overarching service contracts for all Fitzrovia sites
  • Build strong relationships with all counterparties and stakeholders and act as the liaison for shareholders and any external stakeholders

Administration and Reporting

  • Review annual operating budgets and long-range capital budgets for each property
  • Review monthly variance reports created by each Property Manager and evaluate property performance against the established budget
  • Work with corporate team members on conceptual proforma preparation
  • Prepare annual business plans which include financial and non-financial projections and performance goals at the individual property and corporate levels

Training

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead execution and training directives
  • Plan monthly Regional Manager meetings to discuss best practices
  • Oversee and assist in training Regional Managers
  • Facilitate regularly scheduled Regional Manager feedback meetings
  • Monitor the local market to help develop new curriculums, standards or trends in education or programming

Customer Service

  • Review customer service surveys and the follow up action taken by staff, making further recommendations if necessary
  • Participate in resident events, as appropriate
  • Coordinate marketing objectives including growth targets at the individual property level and corporate levels
  • Plan, implement and manage brand guidelines and marketing initiatives alongside the marking team
  • Employ the latest customer service technology

Team Leadership

  • Lead the Property Management team, providing oversight, mentorship, ongoing coaching, professional development and training.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to forecast team requirements, and recruit and onboard new team members
  • Manage the performance and execution of team members and objectives.
  • Oversee training plans for all portfolio roles
